President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed gratitude to the famous boxer Gennady Golovkin for his contribution to the return of boxing to the Olympic program, reports Adyrna.
The Head of State emphasized that it is a great responsibility for champions to defend the nation’s honor. According to him, every sporting victory is a symbol of the people’s pride and a reflection of the country’s reputation.
“Our athletes contribute to strengthening the nation’s health and promoting a healthy lifestyle with every achievement. Becoming a champion means raising the glory of the country. That is why the state will always support its athletes,” the President said at the award ceremony for the winners and medalists of the World Boxing Championships.
Tokayev also stressed the need to begin preparations for the Olympics now, noting that high results are expected from Kazakhstani athletes at the upcoming major sporting event in Los Angeles.
