A 38-year-old resident of Zhetisu region, who was accused of destroying the Nazarbayev monument in Taldykorgan, was convicted. The Taldykorgan city court has issued a verdict against Azamat Batyrbayev, the national portal "Adyrna" reports.
"Investigation materials and a procedural agreement on the defendant's confession of guilt were submitted to the court. By the court's decision, he was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months of imprisonment. During this period, the defendant will be placed on probation," Taldykorgan city court reported.
Let's remind that 38-year-old Azamat Batyrbayev was brought to justice for his participation in the riots in Taldykorgan in January. He drove a truck during the demolition of the Nazarbayev monument installed in the central square.
