Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Iran had no plans to develop nuclear weapons and confirmed the fatwa of the leader of the Islamic Revolution prohibiting the possession of such weapons. This was announced by the TASS news agency, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.

"No one wants the emergence of new nuclear powers in the world, and Moscow believes that since Iran does not have nuclear weapons, Saudi Arabia will not be tempted to acquire them either," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference held during the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.
