An earthquake was felt in Abai and East Kazakhstan regions

On July 23 at 15:37 Astana time, the seismic stations network of the “Seismological Research Institute” LLP, under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, recorded an earthquake, reports Adyrna national portal.

The epicenter of the tremor was located 793 kilometers northeast of Almaty city.

Seismic activity was felt in several settlements of the Abai and East Kazakhstan regions. In particular, tremors measuring up to 4 points on the MSK-64 scale were observed in the following locations:

Abai Region: Kokpekti, Kalbatau, Aksuat, Ayagoz, Semey, Urzhar, Zholaman, Makanchy, Karaaul, Beskaragay, Borodulikha villages;

East Kazakhstan Region: Samar, Kasym Kaisenov settlement, Oskemen, Glubokoe, Kurchum, Altay (Zyryanovsk), Ridder (Leninogorsk), Ulken Naryn, Shemonaikha, Akzhar, Katon-Karagay, Buran, Markakol, Zaisan.

Although the earthquake reached up to 4 points in some areas, no official reports of casualties or destruction have been recorded at this time.
