Starting from 2025, Kazakhstan will switch to the new phone code +997, the national portal "Adyrna" reports.
The Telecommunications Committee of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced that our country would switch to the new code from January 2025.
Representatives of the committee emphasized that the plan to introduce the phone code +997 is real.
Kazakhstan reserved the new code last year. According to the recommendations of the International Telecommunication Union, the existing code can be used simultaneously with the new +997 code for two years.
