Iran tested the medium-range Qassem Basir ballistic missile, Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh announced on May 4, according to Adyrna’s correspondent.
He stated that such a weapon is necessary to strengthen the country’s defense and deter enemy attacks.
“The missile is an improved version of Hal Qasem. The Qassem Basir features a thermal imaging system that ensures high accuracy. In addition, the missile is resistant to electronic warfare systems,” the minister said.
Nasirzadeh also warned that if the United States launches an attack, Iran will deliver a devastating response.
“If an attack is carried out, we will not consider any limitations. Iran is not an enemy to neighboring countries — we seek brotherly relations with them. However, in a state of war, we will target American bases located in neighboring countries,” emphasized the head of Iran’s military department.
