On May 15, an earthquake was recorded in the Kulu district of Konya province, Turkey, reports the national portal “Adyrna.”
This was reported by Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
The seismic tremor occurred at 15:46 local time. The magnitude of the underground quake was 5.2, and its epicenter was located at a depth of 18.73 kilometers. The tremors were also felt in the capital Ankara and nearby regions.
According to Turkey’s Minister of the Interior, Ali Yerlikaya, seismic activity has currently ceased. There is no information about casualties or destroyed structures.
It is worth noting that earlier, on April 23, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake occurred near the coast of the Marmara Sea near Istanbul, injuring 236 people. No fatalities were reported.
