The filming of the historical series about Zhoshy Khan has been completed

The filming of The Golden Empire, a series dedicated to Zhoshy Khan and the formation of the Golden Horde, has been fully completed in Kazakhstan, reports the national portal “Adyrna.” The project was carried out with the support of Karga Seven Pictures (USA–Turkey) and the “Dara” Foundation. Filming began on February 14, 2025. All scenes were shot on location in Kazakhstan — at Kazakhfilm Studios, Tamgaly Tas, Nomad City, and mountain gorges. No digital backgrounds were used. Approximately 700 professionals took part in the project, 70% of whom were Kazakhstani. Around 4,000 actors from around the world applied for casting. Kazakh actors impressed with their professionalism and were cast in leading roles.
