First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Kozhayev told how many Russian citizens had applied for Kazakh citizenship, the national portal "Adyrna" reported with reference to Zakon.kz.
About 170 Russians have applied for Kazakh citizenship. According to our analysis, the same number of people applied last year. Earlier, more than 200 people applied for Kazakhstani citizenship, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Marat Kozhayev said.
According to Marat Kozhayev, the number of applicants for a residence permit has slightly increased. Last year the figure was 350 to 400, and since the beginning of 2022 it has reached a thousand people.
In addition, about 10 thousand people applied for a personal identification number (PIN). It can be obtained by a citizen of any foreign country for doing business, financial operations. IIN is not a tool for obtaining citizenship or a residence permit, said Marat Kozhayev.
