Bolat Altynbekov, who has been wanted internationally since 2010, was arrested on suspicion of corruption, the national portal "Adyrna" informed. This was reported by the Anti-Corruption Agency.
"As a result of rapid search activities within the framework of international cooperation, Russian law enforcement agencies, in cooperation with the anti-corruption service and Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, caught and arrested Altynbekov in Moscow," the message informs.
Bolat Altynbekov changed his last name to "Alsher" in order to hide from the investigative bodies. Currently, the procedure for his extradition to Kazakhstan has begun.
