Renowned judoka Eldos Smetov has announced that he will participate in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, reports Adyrna.
“Exactly one year ago, I achieved my dream and became an Olympic champion. Each of the three Olympics I took part in holds a special place in my heart, but the gold medal from the Paris Olympics will always remain the highest achievement.
On the way to this dream, we gave up many things, let go of many comforts, and took many risks. I wish every athlete could experience this kind of joy and fulfill their dream like I did. Only after winning Olympic gold did I begin to dedicate my life to myself, my family, and my loved ones. The Paris gold showed that no goal is unreachable for us. I want to repeat this victory in 2028 in Los Angeles,” said the champion.
For reference, Eldos Smetov is a silver medalist of the Rio de Janeiro Olympics and a bronze medalist of the Tokyo Olympics. He became the Olympic champion at the 2024 Games in Paris.
