Turkey and Azerbaijan are preparing for a simplified customs corridor

Turkey and Azerbaijan are in the final stages of creating a simplified customs corridor. Turkish Trade Minister Mehmet Mush announced this, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.

"We are creating a technical base to start implementing this project in pilot mode with Azerbaijan. Turkey is ready to implement a similar customs corridor with Uzbekistan," said the head of the Turkish Trade Ministry at a tripartite meeting of the ministers of foreign affairs, trade and transport of Turkey, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in Tashkent on Tuesday.

According to Mush, the combined gross domestic product of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan will reach 1 trillion dollars. And the population of the three countries is 130 million people, which is an indicator of great potential.

Mush emphasized that the preferential trade agreements signed with Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan show the importance Turkey attaches to the realization of this potential.
