An armed man tried to break into the office of the American newspaper New York Times. This is reported by the Associated Press.
According to the publication, the man had an ax and a sword with him. The "visitor" stated that he just wanted to talk to the newspaper's political department staff.
Negotiations with the man had to be held in the lobby of the editorial building in Manhattan. After the American was refused, he voluntarily handed over his weapon.
The man also waited for the police to arrive. After that, he was taken to the hospital for examination.
