On April 30, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the introduction of an investment visa in the country, according to the national portal “Adyrna.”
Foreign nationals who invest at least 300,000 US dollars will be eligible for a document that allows them to reside in Kazakhstan. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visa is aimed at increasing the country’s investment appeal and supporting long-term business partnerships.
“Under the new regulations, foreign citizens who invest a minimum of 300,000 US dollars into the charter capital of Kazakhstani companies or into domestic securities can submit an electronic application for an investor visa. This ‘golden visa’ will later make it possible to obtain a residence permit for up to 10 years,” the statement said.
The ministry noted that such visa programs are widely used in international practice—including in European countries, the United States, the UAE, and Singapore—and are an effective tool for attracting capital, technology, and business activity.
Kazakhstan plans to adopt this approach by offering its own model for investment-based residency.
“The issuance of ‘golden visas’ will help create a favorable and predictable environment for foreign investors, provide legal guarantees, and strengthen trust in Kazakhstan’s investment climate. The new initiative reflects the country’s strategic commitment to transparency, capital protection, and the development of sustainable international economic relations,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The document will come into effect 10 days after its official publication.
