Renowned journalist and the first director of the “Qazsport” TV channel, Dias Akhmetsharip, has passed away. The news of his passing was reported by the Qazaqstan national channel, according to Adyrna.
He began his career in 1997 as a reporter for Kazakh Radio. For many years, he worked as a sports journalist for the Khabar Agency and Qazaqstan TV channel. He was the founding director of the state-owned Qazsport channel and served as the editor-in-chief of Insport TV.
From 2003 to 2007, he was the head of the press service and spokesperson for the Agency for Sports and Tourism. Between 2010 and 2012, he served as the director of the Public Relations Department of the Astana-SK corporate foundation. From 2012 to 2013, he worked as an adviser to the Chairman of the Agency for Sports and Physical Culture.
He also worked as a sports commentator for the Olympic and Asian Games, World Championships, and served as the press attaché for the national team of Kazakhstan.
Earlier, it was reported that Dias Akhmetsharip had suffered a stroke and had fallen into a coma.
