The promising unmanned aerial vehicle CH-YH1000, designed for cargo transportation, has taken to the skies for the first time in China, reports the national portal “Adyrna” citing Global Times.
The cargo drone, which resembles an airplane, was developed by China’s state-owned aerospace corporation, CASC (China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation). The CH-YH1000 can carry over 1,000 kilograms of cargo. It is capable of flying at altitudes of up to 8,000 meters and has a flight duration of approximately 10 hours.
According to experts, once testing is complete, the drone is expected to play an important role in logistics by delivering goods to mountainous and hard-to-reach regions of central and western China. Additionally, the CH-YH1000 is capable of taking off and landing on highways, hard ground, and grassy fields.
