An Italian higher education institution will open a branch on the basis of Zhetysu State University, according to Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, as reported by Adyrna.
“The biggest announcement today is that this year, for the first time, an Italian university will open a branch at Zhetysu State University. It is the Università Politecnica delle Marche, located in the city of Ancona. This university is highly specialized in agronomy and agriculture. Back in the day, there was a famous dairy company in Italy called Parmalat. This university was the main provider of specialists and researchers for that company. This year, we will launch four programs: agronomy, breeding, agriculture, and, most importantly, food technology,” said Nurbek in the Akorda press hall.
The minister noted that Italy is one of the leading countries in the field of agriculture, both in Europe and globally.
“Starting this year, the best professors will teach in Zhetysu. In addition, a branch of La Sapienza University will be opened. I graduated from there in 2004, and we are also negotiating with Politecnico di Milano. A major visit by the President of Italy is planned for September. We will announce big news during that visit,” the minister added.
It is worth noting that today, President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev officially welcomed the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, during her official visit to Kazakhstan at the Akorda.
