President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev met with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, reports Adyrna.
Expressing his respect for the Turkmen leader, Tokayev emphasized the importance of Berdimuhamedov’s participation in the first “Central Asia – Italy” summit, highlighting its significance for further promoting multifaceted intergovernmental relations.
“We place great importance on developing cooperation between our two countries. I believe we can achieve concrete results in economic relations. Cooperation is also rapidly advancing in other areas, especially in the cultural and humanitarian spheres. Considering that both sides are making efforts to implement the projects on our agenda, the future of our mutually beneficial relationship is very promising,” said the President.
According to President Tokayev, cooperation between Astana and Ashgabat is currently flourishing, with positive dynamics observed in many key sectors.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for his hospitality and for successfully hosting the “Central Asia – Italy” summit.
“This is the first time that the countries of Central Asia and Italy are holding talks in such a high-level format. I am confident that the outcomes of the summit will contribute to expanding cooperation between our nations,” said the Turkmen president.
During the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also extended his warm regards to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty (People’s Council), and wished him great success in his responsible role.
