Former Deputy Chairman of the National Security Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Samat Abish, ex-Prime Minister Askar Mamin and former head of the Police Department of Pavlodar region Nurlan Massimov have not been prosecuted, the national portal Adyrna reports.
According to Orda.kz, after the "January events" they sent a letter to law enforcement agencies to find out whether the case is being investigated or not.
"The police are not prosecuting the citizens you asked for," the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
The KNB is investigating former KNB chairman Karim Massimov and other officials. They are suspected of high treason and attempt to seize power.
