A 7.3-magnitude earthquake occurred in Tajikistan on the border with the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, in the northwest of China. This was reported by RIA Novosti, the national portal "Adyrna" wrote.

According to the Chinese Seismology Center, the earthquake occurred at 08:37 (06:37 Astana time). The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 10 km, about 82 km from the border with China.

According to the Ministry of Emergencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an earthquake of magnitude 2-3 was felt in Almaty. It was also known that an earthquake of magnitude 3-4 occurred in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.

There has been no information about victims and collapsed buildings among residents.
