In 2025, 1,070 ethnic Kazakhs returned to their historical homeland. This was reported by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, according to the national portal “Adyrna.”
“Since the beginning of the year, more than half (51.9%) of the Kazakhs who arrived in Kazakhstan came from the People’s Republic of China, 37.5% from Uzbekistan, 7.1% from Turkmenistan, 1.8% from Russia, and 1.7% from other countries,” the statement said.
It is worth noting that since 1991, more than 1,149,000 Kazakhs have returned to Kazakhstan.
