Foreign direct investment of Kazakhstani investors in January-September 2021 reached 1.5 billion US dollars. In 12 months of 2020, the figure reached 1.4 billion US dollars, according to the national portal "Adyrna" with reference to Naryk.kz.

Thus, the growth for nine months was 35.8%.

$ 1 billion of foreign direct investment of Kazakhstani investors belongs to financial and insurance activities. It is followed by professional and scientific and technical services ($ 117.4 million) and production of household and consumer goods ($ 96.7 million).

Most of the remittances are from offshore countries. In the first nine months of last year, the Cayman Islands received the largest amount of $ 637.5 million. The amount of money transferred to this country has tripled in one year.

It is followed by Russia ($ 253.1 million), followed by the offshore Seychelles ($ 176.6 million).

It should be noted that the transferred investments were transferred in the third quarter of last year. Before that, Kazakh investors did not send money to the Seychelles.

However, investment in the Cayman Islands is steadily increasing. The share of the Cayman Islands in 2011 was 0.1% of total foreign direct investment, while in 2020 the figure was 23.3%. In the first nine months of 2021 it was 42.2%.
