Tashkent and Ankara have signed an expanded military agreement. The press service of the Turkish Ministry of National Defense reports.

The document was signed during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's official visit to Uzbekistan. It was approved by the defense ministers of the two republics - Hulusi Akar from Turkey and Bahodir Kurbanov from Uzbekistan.

No details were provided. At a press conference after the talks, Erdoğan said that there was a great potential for developing cooperation with Uzbekistan in the defense industry.

The President noted that Turkey's achievements in this field were obvious, it had "great potential" and it was ready to share it with Uzbekistan.

Speaking ahead of the meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish High Level Strategic Cooperation Council, Erdoğan said that Turkey would continue to support Uzbekistan as a comprehensive strategic partner, friend and brother, Anadolu reported. He congratulated the audience on Nauryz.
