Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree to increase the number of troops to 100,000, and assured that the country's economy has stabilized, Adyrna reports quoting RIA Novosti.

It was noted that the decree was signed by the President in his speech at the opening ceremony of the session in the Verkhovna Rada.

"The decree provides for an increase in financial support for all servicemen to at least a third of the minimum wage. It also provides for an increase in the number of Ukrainian armed forces to 100,000 over the next three years," Zelensky said at the opening of the seventh session of the Verkhovna Rada.

In addition, it is planned to extend the service life of contractors. According to him, this is not because of the imminent war, but to start the country's transition to a professional army "for peace."

In his speech, Zelensky also said that the country's economy has stabilized and the financial system is under control.

"Everything is under control in the financial system. In January, the budget revenue exceeded 7 billion. The hryvnia is at a good level today, yesterday it strengthened to 30 tiyn, we are gradually returning to the planned and stable rate. There is about a week. Our bonds are positive in international financial markets. The financial world is optimistic about the future of Ukraine, "Zelensky said at the opening session of the parliament.

He said Ukraine had sufficient gas and coal reserves. According to the President, gold and foreign exchange reserves remain at a record level, "which protects against various fluctuations and strengthens economic immunity."

Kiev and the West have recently expressed concern about Russia's activities near the Ukrainian border. Moscow has denied the allegations, saying it does not pose a threat to anyone and will not attack anyone.
