Massimov's case: A case has been filed under Article 5 of the Criminal Code

Former chairman of the National Security Committee Karim Massimov's detention has been extended. Massimov's case is also being investigated under five articles of the Criminal Code, the national portal Adyrna reports. This was reported by the KNB in ​​response to a request from the website Informburo.kz.

"On February 25, the Investigative Court of Nur-Sultan extended the measure of restraint in the form of detention of Karim Massimov for 3 months," the agency said in a statement.

Massimov's property was confiscated during the investigation. The decision to transfer property to the state is made by the court.

The KNB operative investigation team reports that Massimov and other persons are being investigated under the following articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

- Part 4 of Article 366 - "Bribery";

- Item 3 of Part 4 of Article 362 - "Abuse of power or official authority";

- Part 1 of Article 175 - "Treason";

- Part 3 of Article 179 - "Actions aimed at violating the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, forcible seizure of power or forcible retention of power or forcible change of the constitutional system of the Republic of Kazakhstan";

- Paragraph 3 of Part 3 of Article 218 - "Involvement in the legal circulation of criminally obtained money and (or) other property through the conclusion of transactions in the form of conversion or transfer of property, which is income from criminal offenses, or possession and use of such property."
