At a briefing held after the Government meeting, the Minister of Transport said how much money will be needed for the construction of the LRT in Astana next year, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.
"This year, 52 billion tenge were allocated to the project. At the beginning of the year, information spread that the ministry is now asking for this amount. It's not about him. That amount was allocated and directed to driving the foundation piles. 96 percent of the work has been completed. And 76 percent of the support installation works have been completed. As far as I know, 82 percent of the works of connecting the structures to each other have been completed. These are works completed this year," said Marat Karabayev.
The head of the department also said how much money will be needed for the project next year.
"About 45 billion tenge will be needed to complete the construction and installation works next year. About 1.5 thousand workers are currently working at the construction site. If the scope of work expands, we will ask for additional funds up to 150 billion tenge. However, the plan to complete the facility is planned for 2025. Initially, 8 stations and 5 trains will start working, the minister said.
