Kazakhstan and Russia produce an aircraft together

Kazakhstan and Russia have signed an agreement on research and development work on the development of multi-purpose aircraft "Baikal", the national portal "Adyrna" reports with reference to the website of the capital Info.

The agreement was signed by Daniyar Amangeldin, General Director of Kazakhstan's aviation industry, and Vadim Badeha, General Director of Ural Civil Aviation Plant JSC.

The event was held on the site of the International Aerospace Salon MAX-2021.

"The signing of this agreement is, first of all, a step that reflects Kazakhstan's intention to develop the aviation industry together with Russia. The technological development achieved by our country in recent years will allow us to play a role in contributing to this project, "D. Amangeldin said.

In turn, V. Badeha said Baikal was a new universal regional aircraft designed to operate on local networks far from central cities. Earlier, the first multi-purpose light aircraft LMS-901 "Baikal" was presented at the site MAX-2021. The cruising speed of the turboprop is 300 km / h, the maximum flight distance is 3000 km, the minimum flight distance from the ground is 220 m.

The aircraft will be able to carry two tons of cargo over a distance of at least 1,500 km. Its price will be 30-50% lower than foreign competitors.
