President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam, in a small-format meeting. This was announced by Akorda, reports the national portal “Adyrna.” The President noted that this was To Lam’s first visit to Kazakhstan in his capacity as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and he considered it a testament to the strong friendship between the two nations. “Vietnam is one of Kazakhstan’s key partners in Asia. Our shared interest lies in growth and development. Two years ago, I paid an official visit to Vietnam. At that time, we agreed to develop new areas of bilateral cooperation. Next month marks the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. I firmly believe that the friendship between our peoples will continue to strengthen. We are always ready to join efforts in achieving our common goals,” said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. In response, To Lam expressed gratitude for the warm reception from the Kazakh side and voiced confidence that the results of the negotiations would contribute to expanding the horizons of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Vietnam. “The visit of our delegation to your country two years after your visit to Vietnam demonstrates the dynamic development of cooperation between our nations. It also clearly reflects the high level of mutual trust. Kazakhstan is becoming Vietnam’s first strategic partner in Central Asia,” said To Lam. It is worth noting that on May 6, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev officially welcomed To Lam, the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, at Akorda during his state visit. The parties are expected to sign an important agreement following the talks.
