On November 8, the World Women's Team Tennis Championship - the Billie Jean King Cup - began in Glasgow, Scotland. The national team of Kazakhstan, headed by Yaroslava Shvedova, will defend the country's honor in this competition.

Kazakhstan will compete in Group C with teams from Great Britain and Spain. The games will be played on the hard surface of the Emirates Arena with a capacity of 8,200 spectators.

This year's Wimbledon winner Yelena Rybakina, Yulia Putintseva, Anna Danilina and Zhibek Kulambaeva are in the Kazakhstan national team.

At the press conference held before the match, team captain Yaroslava Shvedova said that she believed in Kazakhstani girls, despite the fact that they were participating in such a level competition for the first time.

"Our team is strong, only Zarina Diyas is missing, although Zhibek Kulambaeva has joined. The girls are preparing with all their heart, we are also studying the opponent. As usual, we are preparing for the match. Having played in such a manner in the Asia-Pacific region, this is not unusual for us. We will do our best to win."
- said Ya. Shvedova.

Team leader Elena Rybakina told that the strongest teams of the world had gathered in Glasgow, and each of them hoped to win.
