Nursultan Shokanov, the chairman of the Regional Chamber of Entrepreneurs, met with Jaber Najm Abdullah al-Temimi, the temporary representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Almaty. The parties discussed issues of cooperation and establishment of business contacts in the trade and economic sphere.
It should be noted that the Embassy of Iraq in Kazakhstan has been operating since October 12, 2008. Trade turnover between the countries in 2022 was 7.4 million dollars. According to the representatives of the delegation, the Iraqi authorities are interested in attracting Kazakh companies and investments to the Iraqi market.
According to the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, by the end of 2019, the trade volume between Kazakhstan and Iraq amounted to almost 3 million dollars. In 2018, this figure was 3.1 million dollars and was related to the volume of exports.
