"According to the results of the investigation activities carried out by the Anti-Corruption Service of the East Kazakhstan region on the basis of interaction with the Department of the National Security Committee, the head of the Department of Ecology of the region was exposed.
He is suspected of accepting bribes from business entities several times for allowing emissions into the environment during the exploration of solid minerals and for general care," the report said.
The suspect was arrested with the sanction of the investigative court.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
According to Article 201 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, other information is not subject to disclosure.
