Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the people of Kazakhstan on Victory Day, reports Adyrna.

The President emphasized that today we bow with sincere gratitude to the soldiers who fought bravely for the Motherland on the battlefield and to the veterans who worked tirelessly on the home front. He highlighted the special respect shown to the older generation who endured all the hardships of those tragic years and achieved Victory.

“Our country made an immeasurable contribution to the common Victory. During World War II, millions of our compatriots fought selflessly and worked tirelessly to supply the army with everything it needed. More than one hundred of our fellow citizens became full holders of the Order of Glory, five hundred people were awarded the title of Hero, and tens of thousands of citizens received honors for their military bravery and dedicated labor,” said the Head of State.

The immortal glory of the older generation will never be forgotten. Memorials have been erected in honor of courageous commanders and soldiers, books have been published, films have been made, and streets, schools, museums, airports, military units, and institutes have been named after the defenders of the nation.

“It is the sacred duty of today’s generation to instill in young people the meaning and significance of our veterans’ heroic deeds. Thanks to the unwavering courage and noble spirit of brave frontline soldiers, we live in an independent and peaceful country, develop our national culture, and enjoy the benefits of modern civilization,” the President said.

The Head of State also noted that Kazakhstan is known and respected throughout the world, and that the country is building a Just Kazakhstan in accordance with the new constitutional principles. The Constitution does not discriminate against anyone based on ethnicity or beliefs and equally protects the rights and freedoms of all citizens.

“Victory Day is, above all, a day to honor and preserve the memory of our heroes whose military bravery and dedicated labor brought us peace and tranquility. This holiday is not meant for extravagant celebrations, but for meaningful reflection. May our blue flag — a symbol of our people’s aspiration for peaceful life and prosperity — always fly under a clear sky! Happy Victory Day!” Tokayev said.
