At the news conference on Downing Street, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said "today is not the day we can announce our victory over COVID because the virus has not been eradicated." However, in the UK, all restrictions on COVID-19 will be lifted on Thursday, and free mass testing will be suspended from April 1, according to the national portal Adyrna, citing the BBC.

According to the Prime Minister, the country is "returning to normal life", but always keep in mind that unforeseen circumstances may arise and be ready for the return of certain COVID strains or the emergence of new ones. The Life with COVID plan addresses the individual responsibility of each citizen, not government measures to prevent the spread of infection.

People infected with COVID-19, like many other infectious diseases, still need to isolate themselves. At the same time, it is now their personal responsibility, not a legal obligation. From April 1, free testing will be conducted only for the most vulnerable groups.

Many staff and students in educational and childcare facilities are no longer tested for COVID-19 twice a week.

Johnson had previously told the BBC that £ 2bn had been spent on the testing system in January alone.
