The presentation of the book “Yerekshe balalar. Minez-kulykty koldanbaly taldauga (АВА) kіrіspe”. This is the first book on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in the Kazakh language. ABA therapy is one of the few methods in the world of teaching children with developmental disabilities with scientifically proven effectiveness. The book was translated and published by the Bolashak corporate fund in partnership with the Chevron company.

This book is a translation into Kazakh of the book “Special Children. Introduction to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), which details the basic principles of applied behavior analysis, outlines methods for correcting problematic behavior, and describes strategies for teaching skills to a child with developmental disabilities. The book is intended for teachers, defectologists, speech therapists and parents raising and teaching children with special needs.

The translation and publication of the book is being implemented within the framework of the project "Every child deserves a school" of the Bolashak Foundation. The project has existed since 2015 and aims to develop and implement an inclusive model of education for children with autism and other developmental disabilities in schools and kindergartens.

“Thanks to the translation of such books, we provide Kazakh-speaking specialists with access to advanced methods recognized by the world scientific community, in this case, correctional pedagogy. This means that we are creating even greater conditions for improving the efficiency of work with special children in Kazakhstan. As part of the work on the book, some specific terms on applied behavior analysis were first translated into Kazakh from English and Russian. Of course, the translation of the book would not have taken place without our dear sponsor, Chevron. We express our sincere gratitude for the support of such a significant cause. Today we are laying the foundation for the emergence of a layer of high-quality literature in the field of inclusion in the Kazakh language. The Fund will continue to work in this direction.

We are currently working on the translation from English into Kazakh of the ABLLS-R tool for assessing the skills of a child with special needs,” said Dinara Gaplan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bolashak Foundation.
