China imposed trade sanctions against Taiwan after US Congress Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit. This was announced by the Economic Daily News newspaper in Taiwan, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.

According to reports, the General Administration of Customs of China issued a statement on August 3, announcing that the import of citrus fruits, chilled swordfish, frozen mackerel and other products from Taiwan will be suspended from now on.

China's official statement explained that the main reason for the suspension of imports is due to the discovery of harmful substances in these products.

China's Ministry of Commerce also announced on the morning of the 3rd that it will stop exporting natural sand to Taiwan.

The Chinese government's "Taiwan Affairs Office" also announced on the same day that it would impose sanctions on Taiwan's "Taiwan Democracy Foundation", "Fund for International Cooperation and Development" and other organizations, prohibiting these organizations from cooperating with Chinese enterprises, legal entities or in any other form.
