Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev met with the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, who came specially to the meeting of the heads of the Central Asian states and the President of the European Council. This was reported by the press service of Akorda, the national portal "Adyrna" wrote.
Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev expressed his respect to Sadyr Zhaparov and he expressed his gratitude that he came specially to participate in the important meeting to be held in Astana.
- Your visit is important. We are holding a bilateral meeting with the aim of further promoting relations between our countries. There is no tension between our states. Thanks to our joint efforts, I believe that these achievements will multiply and our bilateral partnership will continue to develop rapidly, - said Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev.
Sadyr Zhaparov thanked the President of Kazakhstan for inviting him to today's important meeting.
- I am happy to come to Astana to participate in the first meeting of the heads of Central Asian states and the President of the European Council. We highly value Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations. Using this opportunity, I congratulate you on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries, - said Sadyr Zhaparov.
The heads of states highly appreciated the positive results of the joint work of the governments of the two countries in the field of trade. Trade turnover between the two countries increased by 17.7 percent compared to the same period last year. The goal of bringing the volume of bilateral trade up to 2 billion dollars is being carried out according to the plan.
The parties also discussed transport-logistics, cultural-humanitarian aspects of Kazakh-Kyrgyz relations.
