Yerlan Koshanov was re-elected as the chairman of the chamber at the general meeting of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Yerlan Koshanov's candidacy was nominated by Baktykoja Izmukhambetov, the national portal "Adyrna" reported.
According to paragraph 1 of Article 58 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan is elected by secret ballot by the majority of the total number of deputies of the Chamber from among the deputies fluent in the state language.
According to the results of the vote, 98 deputies supported Koshanov becoming the Speaker of the Chamber.
It should be noted that the first session of the Parliament was held today with the presence of the president.
